Chapter 1

MORE FREQUENT NON-CYANOTIC HEART DISEASES:

With increased pulmonary circulation:

  1. Atrial septal defect
  2. Ventricular septal defect
  3. Patent ductus arteriosus
  4. Atrial septal defect with partial anomalous venous return
  5. Endocardial cushion defects

With normal pulmonary circulation:

  1. Pulmonary stenosis
  2. Stenosis of the pulmonary branches
  3. Obstructive malformations on the left heart:Coarctation of the aorta
    Aortic valve stenosis
  4. Cardiomyopaties as Endocardial fibroelastosis, cardiac lucogenosis, malformations of the coronary arteries, etc.
  5. Aortic arch malformations
  6. Malformations of the mitral valve

MORE FREQUENT CYANOTIC HEART DISEASES:

With increased pulmonary circulations:

  1. Complete transposition of the great arteries
  2. Double outlet right ventricle
  3. Taussig-Bing syndrome
  4. Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula
  5. Total anomalous venous return
  6. Truncous arteriosus (type I, II and III)
  7. Hypoplastic left ventricular syndrome:
    Aortic atresia
    Hypoplastic aortic artery
    Mitral valve atresia

With normal pulmonary circulation or diminished pulmonary circulation:

  1. Tetralogy of Fallot
  2. Tricuspid atresia
  3. Hypoplastic right ventricle
  4. Ebstein anomaly
  5. Pulmonic stenosis or atresia with ASD
  6. Single ventricle with pulmonic stenosis
  7. Eisenmenger syndrome
  8. Truncous arteriosus (type IV)
